What do you know of your Dog's Hearing Ability
It has been speculated that dogs can hear any sounds within the range of 40Hz to 60,000Hz( frequency range) Confirm sources says a dog can hear sounds as low as 16Hz to 20Hz (frequency range) compared to 20-70Hz for humans and above 45KHz compared to 13 to 20KHz for humans.
Dogs have the ability to move their ear to any direction to pinpoint the exact location of sounds. There are 18 or more muscles on a dog's ear that helps it to tilt, rotate and raise or lower its ear hence they are able to hear sound much more than humans.
Dogs hear sounds 4 times the distance that humans can hear. They are able to identify a sound location faster than a human can. Dogs with more natural ear shape, like those of wild canids like the fox generally hear better than those with floppier ears of many domestic dogs.
